General information
IIT Hyderabad permanent campus that occupies 550 acres (2.2 km2) that is part of the Kandhi village, Medak district. Presently The institute has nearly 60 faculty, 330 B.Tech students, 110 M.Tech students, 70 research scholars and 40 administrative and supporting staff. Growing ever since it obtained its charter from the Indian Parliament in 2008, IIT Hyderabad has established itself as a premier centre for teaching, research and industrial consultancy in the country.
The Institute has 10 academic departments and research centres across various disciplines of engineering and pure sciences, with well equipped laboratories at temporary campus.

 History

IIT Hyderabad started in 2008 from a temporary campus at Ordinance Factory(ODF), Yeddumailaram village. Its permanent campus will be located at Kandi near Sangareddy and is close to the Outer Ring Road (Hyderabad). United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Mrs Sonia Gandhi on 27th Feb 2009 laid the foundation stone for the permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) in Andhra Pradesh's Medak district[2].

 Campus and Location

 Permanent Campus

IIT Hyderabad campus will be located at Kandhi (near to Sangareddy) to on the outskirts of Hyderabad in a 550-acre (2.2 km2) campus. The campus located on NH-9 and it also near to Outer Ring Road (Hyderabad). It is expected that all operations will be shifted to the main campus in two years. It is about 45 km from the heart of Hyderabad city.

 Temporary Campus

The temporary campus of IIT Hyderabad is located in the quiet residential campus of Ordnance Factory Medak (OFMK) at Yeddumailaram (Medak District, Andhra Pradesh), about 45 km from the heart of Hyderabad city. The academic blocks are newly renovated buildings of Sarath Vikas School Campus, in a walled compound of approximately 40 acres (0.16 km2). It has all the basic infrastructure to run Academic programmes. All the advanced lab equipment, playground, workshops,lecture halls are made available to the students to encourage research and development.

 Research & Industrial Consultancy
IIT Hyderabad got lot of Project from various Industries and funding agencies. Among those 1st Research Project to address future energy needs of India. The project "Development of High-Energy Density Li-ion Batteries for Mobile Applications" entails developing state-of-the-art electrode materials for Li-ion batteries and fabricating the batteries. ARCI joins hands in embarking on an ambitious program to develop High-Energy Density Batteries.

 Student activities

 Elan

Elan is the annual technical cum cultural festival of IIT Hyderabd.So far, there has been two editions of Elan in 2009 and 2010 ,respectively with the latter being a greater hit, among the colleges across Hyderabad. It is typically held in springs and aims at being one of the biggest student festival in Hyderabad. It includes workshops, lectures, demonstrations, and technical exhibitions. Competitive activities cover design events, programming, simulations and modeling, quizzes, applied engineering, robotics.

 Facilities

These are facilities available in (temporary campus at ODF) IIT Hyderabad: The ODF campus includes four schools (Ankur Vidhaya Mandir, ZPHS, Sarath Vikas School and Kendriya Vidyalaya), One Sai mandir, a couple of bank branches , SBH and Andhra Bank, and three SBI ATMs (One near by SBH,one at ODF Main production unit and one in institute area), a hospital, shopping centers at complex, food joints, Market(twice a week), a swimming pool, football and cricket stadiums.

 Hostel zone

High speed internet is available in the hostel zone 7am to 11:59pm and 24X7 in Sat&Sundays. Each Hostel has washing machines, aqua guards (Manjera drinking water), Computer facility, Solar water heaters, TV rooms, cycle stands and each block having 32 rooms with good ventilation. Each room connected with Wi-Fi and two persons can stay. The hostel zone having dining room,food-court, Gymkhana, SBI ATM, solar lighting system, Cricket ground, Shuttle court, Volleyball ground, Football court, reading room and Music room. IIT Hyderabad Boys hostel zone having Canara Bank with One ATM is set up near by gyamkana room.

 Academic zone

High speed Internet is available in the institute 24x7. IITH has a small cafeteria in its premises, named "Little Place". IIT Hyderabad having SBI bank with One SBI ATM is set up at the institute area.

 Labs and workshops

Labs are well equipped and are apt to the growing need of latest technology and remains open 24x7. IIT-Hyderabad having High Computing facility with Linux and Windows severs.

Library

The IIT Hyderabad Library has a modest collection of books and is growing with every day. The Library holds about 1200 acquisitions of academic books and about 200 acquisitions of non-academic books. There are variety magazines, NEWS papers (Hindi, English and Telugu) and Video lectures are also available.

Vice Chancellors
It was headed by Dr. Cattamanchi Ramalinga Reddy as the Vice-Chancellor from 1926 to 1931 and in a further second term from 1936 to 1949. It was headed by Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan in the interim period from 1931 to 1936.
Infrastructure
The university contains two sections, the south campus and north campus. The south campus houses the Arts, Humanities and Sciences departments along with the administrative block. The north campus (established in 1962), comprises the engineering College.
The university has four constituent colleges. The college of arts and commerce is the biggest constituent college in the university with 28 departments offering 55 courses. The college of science and technology has 19 departments, which offers 44 courses. The college of engineering has 16 departments involving in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The college of law has been identified as an advanced center in law by University Grants Commission.
The university has a school of distance education (started 1972). The school has 32 study centers across the state and a study center at New Delhi.
The university campus has 19 hostels for men and 4 hostels exclusively for women that accommodate more than 4,300 students. Residential accommodation of 340 units of staff quarters is available on the university campus. The university also has three Health Centres, a homeopathy dispensary, three guest houses, a faculty club, an open air theatre and a campus school for the children of university staff.

 Campuses outside the university

It has established campuses outside Visakhapatnam to meet demand for post-graduate education. Campuses are located in Etcherla, Srikakulam district, Kakinada, East Godavari district, Tadepalligudem, West Godavari district and Vizianagaram. An earlier campus at Guntur City, established in 1967, became Acharya Nagarjuna University in 1976. Adikavi Nannaya University is formed in 2006 taken the affiliated colleges from East and West Godavari districts.

 Affiliations

There are 575 affiliated colleges spread across five districts under the territorial jurisdiction of Andhra University. The enrollment in undergraduate courses is more than 76,000 and in PG Courses more than 20,000 students. The University is supported by about 860 teachers and more than 2500 non-teaching and technical staff.

Andhra University is the first university in India to offer an under graduate programme from 1957.

History
The university is an outgrowth of a Post-Graduate Centre of Andhra University, which was established in 1967 at Nallapadu area of Guntur and then relocated to Nambur/Kaza area on the east of the city. The Centre gained affiliating university status in 1976, and opened with ten post-graduate courses. The university is named after Acharya Nagarjuna, the pro-founder of the Madhyamaka path of Mahayana Buddhism.

 Campus

In addition to its main campus, the university also maintains two University Campuses in Nuzvid, Krishna District and Ongole, Prakasam District. A total of 44 courses are offered at the three locations. The university affiliates the post-graduate programmes of 292 Colleges/Institutes in Guntur, Krishna, Prakasam and other districts of Andhra Pradesh. Acharya Nagarjuna University offers a special MBA programme that meets the current industry standards, following signing of partner programs deal with Central Michigan University
  • Exchange Programs
The university is also most notably known for its international exchange programs. Various seminars and symposia takes place within the university to promote international education and research activities on a regular basis.

 College of Engineering

A new college for engineering and technology is currently being set up in the main campus of the University [1]. This is one of many engineering colleges in the Guntur region, but the first one to be managed completely by the Government. AICTE has visited the campus and completed the inspection to award grants and other recognition purposes to asses if it meets the minimum criteria.

The Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) (formerly Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University (APAU)) is a University in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India.

The university was established on June 12, 1964, with Shri O. Pulla Reddy, I.C.S (retired) as the first vice-chancellor. It was formally inaugurated on March 20, 1965, by Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, the then Prime Minister of India. Another significant milestone was the inauguration of the building programme of the university by Smt Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India on June 23, 1966.
According to the Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University Act, 1963, Colleges of Agriculture and Veterinary Science, Hyderabad (affiliated to Osmania University), Agricultural College, Bapatala (affiliated to Andhra University), Sri Venkateswara Agricultural College and Andhra Veterinary College, Tiruapti (affiliated to Sri Venkateswara University) were transferred to the new university in June 1964. About 41 agricultural research stations and four research stations were transferred to the university in July 1966 and May 1967, respectively.
The university was renamed as Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University on November 7, 1996 in honour and memory of parliamentarian Acharya N. G. Ranga, who rendered remarkable selfless service for the cause of farmers and is regarded as an outstanding educationist, kisan leader and freedom fighter. A life-size bronze statue of Ranga was unveiled by His Excellency Dr. C. Ranagarajan, the governor of Andhra Pradesh, on 7 November 1998 at the main campus.
